The 2024 Paris Olympics are currently underway, and the athletes representing Hong Kong have recently showcased new nail art styles inspired by the Olympics on Instagram. The fusion of Olympic and Hong Kong elements on their fingertips perfectly symbolizes the spirit of the Olympics and Hong Kong, preparing to shine on the international stage.

To demonstrate their determination to compete in the Paris Olympics, 6 members of the Hong Kong swimming team—Siobhan Haughey, Cheng Lai Mei, Au Hoi Chun, Tam Hoi Lam, Kan Kuet Tung, and Cheung Sum Yuet—were the first to sport nail art styles inspired by the Olympics. The nail art designs draw inspiration from the bauhinia flower, the Olympic rings, and the Eiffel Tower. The nail styles of the team members are quite similar, predominantly featuring blue, white, and red colors, blending bauhinia flower patterns and elements of the Olympic rings to showcase team spirit.

1. 2024 Paris Olympics – Siobhan Haughey Nail Art Style: Bauhinia Flower, Olympic Rings
Known as the “Mixed-Race Flying Fish,” Siobhan Haughey, who recently won the most Olympic medals in Hong Kong’s history, has a bauhinia flower pattern from the Hong Kong flag on the middle finger of her right hand. It is adorned with white and gold accents. The ring finger of her left hand features a white base with the Olympic rings pattern, creating a subtle and elegant look. The gold lines symbolize the hope for the Hong Kong team to win gold.

2. 2024 Paris Olympics – Cheng Lai Mei Nail Art Style: Paris Flag Colors, Eiffel Tower, Bauhinia Flower, Water Droplets
Another mixed-race athlete, Cheng Lai Mei, incorporates the representative colors of the Paris flag—blue, white, and red—into her Olympic nail art style. These colors symbolize “freedom, equality, fraternity.” The design cleverly combines elements of French manicure with silver representations of the Eiffel Tower, Olympic rings, and three-dimensional water droplet patterns, showcasing innovation and aligning perfectly with the theme of the Paris Olympics and swimming events. 3. 2024 Paris Olympics – Tam Hoi Lam Nail Art Style: Olympic Rings, Bauhinia Flower, Saddle
Specializing in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle events, Tam Hoi Lam adorns her fingertips with the Olympic rings and bauhinia flower patterns. She also paints a saddle pattern representing her favorite horse, “Golden Sixty,” and shares a small Golden Sixty doll on Instagram. With her determination and spirit, she is sure to bring victory to Hong Kong just like the legendary Golden Sixty.
