日前一位有多年美甲經驗亦沒有過敏的36歲英國女子Lisa Dewey，一次美甲後竟出現嚴重問題，導致指甲全脫落，嚴重影響生活及令她失去自信。
今年2月時她如常美甲後，手指竟出現疼痛、甲面發炎問題，後來Gel甲開始脫落。當時她到醫院求診，醫生表示這是細菌感染，讓她服用抗生素及使用類固醇藥膏，指甲的情況有好轉，並看起來指甲炎症問題已痊愈，所以在4月再次做了水晶甲(Acrylic Nail）。
但在這次美甲後，Lisa Dewey的指甲問題變得更嚴重，她形容當時的手指疼痛至幾乎無法移動，不到幾天就開始脫落，指甲周圍的皮膚也變得「像紙一樣」脆弱，感覺隨時會被撕下來。指甲出現了嚴重問題導致她的生活也受影響，她沒法幫女兒洗頭、洗碗、繫安全帶以及就連拿起筆也非常痛。
她的指甲不僅從甲床脫落，甲床及周圍也變成了紫色。Lisa指當時很擔心是出現缺氧情況，會需要截去手指，所以停止接觸清潔劑和護膚產品。現在的她已經開始接受新一輪藥物治療，希望能有好轉及成功解決問題。
Lisa決定這次痊癒後，不會再做任何美甲，並告誡大家即使像她般過去多年做美甲都沒問題，但有可能不幸遇上了細菌感染或過敏問題，就很麻煩了。
